Japanese Magnolia

The Japanese Magnolia has coaxed its pretty pink blossoms open just in time for Valentine's Day. I found this moss-covered tree on a shady lane between Selma and Dallas avenues.

Wow. That is stunning. It would worry me to no end that frost or a big freeze would kill the tree.

We really dont have moss trees here. Its neat looking, kind of exotic.

That's beautiful! I wonder if I could find one to plant in my yard. I want a magnolia tree, but everyone says the leaves are a hassle to rake.

It was spring-ish here for a few days and now the cold front has moved in again. Brrr... guess that darn groundhog was right!

Mr. Lincoln, We are supposed to have a hard freeze tonight. I hope it doesn't damage these blooms, but at least I already have them preserved digitally!

Halcyon, I know they have these trees around Jackson, and they aren't the huge magnolia that have unruly leaves to rake. These are a lot different. You would love these trees...blooms before most everything else to help break that winter cabin fever.
