Paperwhite narcissus is blooming in a few yards around town. This delicate, aromatic flower is related to the daffodil and among my favorite of all blossoms.
I posted this flower on Jan.17, 08. They will not grow in our yard, it's too warm in Coral Gables. But we grew one in the kitchen this winter. It was the first time that we were successful. The flower was nice, and the fragrance was the best part. But when I went into the garden the smell was there also. The small tree that I posted on Oct. 24, 07 has the same fragrance.

That's so beautiful...I wish that I could smell it, too!

I always think of my maternal grandmother when I see these flowers. Her middle name was Narcissa.

I didn't have any idea that spring flowers were up and out but then we got 61 degrees F this morning at 4:00 a.m. in Brookville, Ohio.
How wonderful that you have such beautiful Spring flowers in bloom already!
I love these! I always grow them (inside) at Christmas and Easter. Beautiful shot!
The scent of this flower is delicious!

Gracious! I know it's been unseasonally warm, but such a beautiful flower so early in February? Extraordinary.
