Riverfront Market Day crafts

Selma's annual Riverfront Market Day is Saturday, and here's a photo from one of the autumn decorations booths a few years ago. The festival is held on historic Water Avenue, an antebellum riverfront district, and features arts and crafts, food and music.

Such days are memorable- the atmosphere, sun, music and people. I have never before noticed the word 'antebellum' and I looked it up. Before the Civil War.

I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun today! Enjoy, but careful with spiders!

PS: @ Julia - "ante bellum = "before war" (civil or any other...)!

It would be wonderful fun to walk along the street looking at the displays there.

And by the way, that is a winning photo of a spider if I ever saw one!!!!

Thanks for the comments. It was a beautiful day for Market Day, and there was a good crowd. I didn't see any fall decorations, though, and the Mennonites who usually bring homemade baked goods weren't there! But the photography contest had some great river photos, and I bought a t-shirt.

I like this photo. There's an atmosphere of festivity and yet quite serene. Maybe it's because it reminds me of a friend with whom I used to do crafts with.
