I would like to hug you: ""Where there's a performing arts center, there is culture"" -- This is a too often underevaluate concept.
It's great to have a place like this to encourage people to show off their talents.
I agree with Fabrizio.... we have been trying to get a performing arts centre in our town for YEARS.... but No, the Town Council just won't go for it. But we have 2 ice hockey rinks, and numerous baseball diamonds and soccer fields... but nothing where performers can show their talents.
Love your photos!
Hey, I remember going to this theatre as a teenager with some of my friends. I also remember an old, crotchety woman who walked the aisles telling us to keep our feet off the back of the seats!!! I remember how the theatre had a really old musty smell. Ahhh, good times!
Thank you for commenting. This is a very nice place now.
Fladogtrainer,I hear this was the B movie place while the Wilby Theater was the A movie spot. Anyhow, y'all shouldn't have had your feet on the backs of the seats! No wonder it smelled musty! (Haha!)
Doesn't smell that way now - majorly renovated.
