St. James Courtyard

The interior courtyard at the St. James Hotel is a pleasant retreat. The bricked area is centered with an ornate fountain and surrounded by lush green plants. At night, it is lighted. The hotel is often the site of meetings, banquets, parties and receptions.

There's a St. James Hotel in Red Wing, MN, a community within a short driving distance from St. Paul. It's not as ornate as yours, however.

Great essence of small town America. Loved the Under the Bridge shot.
Songs of Selma is a wonderful name for the park. I like that gateway. Somewhat similar to one on my recent post. http://thousandwordsworthy.blogspot.com/2007/07/bard.html

It is an elegant fountain and would make a nice sound and would look great at night.

I noticed Kate did Nathan Hale this morning.

That caused me to think about what kind of person would the city nominate for a statue here where I live and I can't think of anyone.

Seeing this statue of the idealized woman holding up the treasure made me remember the one in the center of downtown Enterprise, Alabama. Are you familiar with that monument to the boll weevil?

Thanks for your comments.
Abe, I think you are the kind of person that Brookville would be proud to have a statue of!

Annie, Yes, I am familiar with the boll weevil statue but have never been to Enterprise to see it. I understand that it honors the boll weevil for wrecking cotton, because that is what caused the farmers to start growing another crop, peanuts! The Wiregrass is perfected suited for those goober peas.
