Bridge Tender's House

Here's a closeup of the entrance to the Bridgetender's House where the old bridge once crossed the Alabama River. Today, it is a privately owned bed and breakfast and is located beside the St. James Hotel. For another view of this house, click the link to View from the Bridge.

This is beautiful! Something so quiet and compelling about the shot--the flag and the soft yellow color of the house--just lovely.

Pretty photo -- I like how the river is visible through the railing. It's nice to hear that it's being used as a B&B, so that people can continue to enjoy the fine workmanship and history!
