These colorful quilts were on display at the Central Alabama Fair last week, and I see that some of them won ribbons. I am fortunate to have several handmade quilts of my own, made by quilters on both sides of our family.
I just noticed that this is Selma, Ala., Daily Photo's 200th post, so what better way to celebrate the occasion than with handcrafted heirlooms from quilters in the area!

I love old quilts. I visited my 2nd cousin in Creole, LA. a month ago. She and my mother grew up together like sisters. She gave me an old blanket my great grandmother made from cotton. It is over 100 years old and so of course it is not in the best of shape but it is something I am proud to now have. Especially since my mother passed away many years ago.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Lovely quilts, beautiful colours, great picture!
Sorry for having been a bit absent lately, but I was abroad on a professional trip last week. One day I’ll probably show some pictures from an unusual destination...
Trying to recover some time, I’m posting on Germany (Koblenz, December 2005) on Blogtrotter.
Enjoy and have a great week!

Congrats on #200! Lovely quilts!
Wow. You can share those ribbons for their achievement, in honor of you 200th post!
Congratulations on your 200th post! I wish I knew how to sew. Those quilts look like a lot of love was put into making them.
Congratulations! I love these handcrafted quilts. They are beautiful and eloborate.
beautiful photo, and you are to be commended for reaching to 200 milestone! Blogging every day isn't easy-particularly when you have to find a new photo each day.
Excellent work-I look forward to your next 200!!
Congratulations on 200 posts! You chose a good photo; quilts are another form of art--not just crafts, but a true visual art form.
