Ginkgo Gold

It was a misty, gray day in central Alabama, but my ginkgo tree helped brighten the backyard. Leaves that have already turned yellow are starting to fall, but there are still many green ones yet to change color.

I love the yellow leaves that have fallen on the lawn. They are gorgeous.

Reminds me of a pointillism painting

About your question on my blog. The shrimp come into the lakes and estuaries to spawn. The are caught there on the bottom. Then they swim back out to sea with the tide -- that's were they are caught with the butterfly nets -- on the top of the water.

The ginkgo leaf does have a cute shape. I liked your photo with the two different types of leaves together too.

I love ginkgo trees! They're so glorious. I'm so glad you took this photo. I agree with Steve's comment about pointillism. Thanks!

Autumn leaves are stunning! And the Riverfront winner was also an excellent one. Great pictures!

Such a lovely photo. And you have captured the effect I have seen and spoken of. But never captured in a photo. How even on a gray day, leaves which turn yellow-golden, seem to glow with an inner light.

Maybe they have this ability, to *make up for* not being as bright and flashy, as the leaves which turn brilliant reds and scarlet...? Maybe...? :-)

The golden yellow looks so nice. I had never seen a gingko tree before. I only knew that gingko is medicinal. Thanks.
