Bewitching Outfits

These bewitching outfits for children were among merchandise at last weekend's Riverfront Market Day. Would your children or grandchildren like wearing ghosties and goblins and friendly black cats on their clothes? While schools here now have fall festivals instead of Halloween carnivals, the day is still celebrated in Selma with a children's parade to the Performing Arts Center where they compete for prizes in a costume contest.

I think it's the parents who would want their children to dress in those bewitching outfits. The children probably would rather wear Cinderella and Batman costumes.

Those are nice looking. My kids are old. A couple are more than half a century old. I don't tell them what to wear anymore. LOL

My kids are 15 and 17 and would still go "trick or treating" if I would let them. I love the green one with the black cat on it! That Market Day sure looks like a lot of fun!

The costume contest is a great idea - but only if they are home-made...

Hi all. Thanks for visiting! I always enjoyed Halloween as a child and when my kids were small. Dressing up in costume was just plain fun! We mostly did homemade costumes. My favorite was a robot outfit for one of my sons. He wore a white sweatshirt and pants, then we used duck tape, foil baking pans, an old colander (for his helmet) and odds and ends of hardware, red reflectors and stick-on numbers to make the outfit appear electronic. He also carried a long "grabber claw," and a cut-off, silver, spray-painted milk carton to hold his candy.

Oh such precious outfits!!! I love the old-fashioned-look. Just totally precious.

OH no! *Fall Festivals* instead of Halloween! -sigh- I do dislike all this very-very-Politically-Correctness! Silly! Silly! Silly! But, that's just me.

I don't decorate with scary looking things on Halloween. And I like the old version, of it being a Harvest festival and a time of reflection. But what's the matter with calling it Halloween? :-)
