Lily Pond

Water lilies are in bloom in this low area off Highway 41, about a mile south of U.S. Highway 80.

Dallas County has numerous swampy areas where lilies, water hyacinths and fern are found.

Cool water lilies! Have you seen any alligators around? I took a photo of some pretty purple flowers in the swamp but it didn't turn out since I couldn't get very close. I had to take it from the road and there was no way to get out and walk over there, just too dangerous.

No alligators, Nikki! This was a shallow spot just off the road, but the photographer said it did look snaky.

LOL! About being snaky. That is almost as bad!
