Tempted!

Ever since Satan took the form of a serpent and persuaded Eve to eat the one fruit that God forbade, mankind has been succumbing to temptation after temptation after temptation! This tablescape was among those at the Elkdale Baptist Church Ladies' Banquet a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it was just so original and colorful! Now, while we traditionally think of an apple as the fruit Eve ate, all we are told in The Bible is that is was a fruit, and if Adam and Eve ate it, they would surely die. What tempts you?

Your serpent looks much friendlier than mine. ;) The complete table setting is very nice and colorful.

I agree with Wendy, a very colourful photo. The season for our lenten buns ("semlor") just ended at Easter which is rather lucky. I would be rolling through life if they were available all year round so I guess that is one of my major temptations.

Umm, is that ice tea on the table? That would tempt me more than the apples.
You church ladies sure know how to dress up a table!

Beautiful setting--apples and all.
You mention that you also are having some snow. I look at your wednesday entry and that is what I want to see. My poor daffodils are all lying down. sob

I think we all are tempted by food!

Small City Scenes, we have had snow in April, back in 1987 (I remember because I was expecting my first child in a few weeks, and I had to go to work and walk in it and try not to fall!) but that is extremely rare! We aren't having any snow now. The temp is in the 70s, and we are supposed to get thunderstorms this evening.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope those daffodils revive.

Nice photo!

I'm tempted by big scoops of ice cream, smothered in hot fudge, topped with whipped cream.

Was that the answer your were looking for?

I think that the serpent would get a result if it offered me a pizza.

Very pretty table setting! I think that I am George's long-lost sister....sweets are my downfall. :)

Its a tempting table setting. Good food is always a turn on, especially if placed in such a beautiful setting.
I'm tempted by many drinks like jal-jeera, strawberry juice, chaas, grape juice along with good Indian food or any other.

Although I do like apples, the food that tempts me most is dark chocolate. White and milk just don't do it for me, it has to be rich and dark!

Halcyon, I am a dark chocolate fan myself! I don't really care for milk chocolate, but Hershey's Special Dark Nuggets with Almonds tempt me at the grocery store every time!

True, the bible only said fruit, not apple =D There is a great story and history to learn from that story.

Anyway, Japanese food would always tempt me...especially raw salmon! or any salmon recipe =D

An apple a day keeps the doctor, the dentist and calories away!
