Sundown

As if crepe myrtle isn't pink enough already, the summer blossoms
just glow even brighter at sundown.

Stormy Sky at Sunset

Last evening's sunset was a mix of orange and pink, purple and gray.
Just as the sun went down, the sky clouded once again and brought
even more rain. While we are thankful for rain (in a way),
there is hay to cut and a flower garden that has turned to weeds and grass!

River Dance

If you haven't been by Carneal ArtsRevive's little corner of the Alabama River lately,
check out these crepe myrtles, along with other blooming things along the terrace bank.
A background curtain of Spanish Moss hangs above the water as these
pink/lavender beauties dance in the breeze (when there is one)!

Simply Summer

Boughs of crepe myrtle splash pink and green across a cottage in Old Town
for a mid-morning, blue-sky picture that is simply summer in Selma.

Summer Scenes

So, it's time to pack the beach vacation photos and return to Selma scenes.

I have photos of the Vaughan-Smitherman Museum through spring and fall and winter, and here it is in summer. Spanish Moss is growing in the crepe myrtle tree and makes a nice foreground.
