The Lady Banks Roses

These Lady Banks roses began blooming in March,

 but they are usually at peak in early April.

However, due to some late frosts, some may not reach

 full bloom for a few more days. These roses are located 

in the municipal complex next to City Hall.

Up with Old Glory

Selma firefighters hoist Old Glory up the flagpole 

at the Selma municipal complex. God bless the USA, a nation
 that has endured many challenges and survived 
so far because of its foundation on the rule of law,
 not the whims of men; and
on rights given by God, not government.

Willow Oaks Plaque

Next time you're downtown, notice the two willow oaks at the municipal complex. They were grown from acorns of the famed Gorgas Oak that once stood at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The Gorgas Oak fell during a windstorm in 1982.
