Ready for the Cold and the Bowl

Meerkat loves to wrap up when the temps turn cold, and cold it will be over
the next few days! With a predicted low of 12 degrees
Monday night, I imagine she will be snuggling on the Auburn blanket
to watch the Auburn University Tigers fight to keep the crystal football
 in the state of Alabama.

Looking for a Home

This black-and-white beauty is looking for a home!

She's been living at the Central Alabama Animal Shelter
in Selma for a long time, and while she enjoys a big playroom,
a loving family to call her own is on her bucket list!

(Camera Critters) Plodding Along

I caught this turtle plodding along in the backyard one day last week. Nearby, a cat circled him or her but decided it was best to leave the turtle alone. Good choice!

The Shaggy Dog (Camera Critters)

This adorable shaggy dog is a frequent guest in our backyard. He's all bark and no bite, but my camera caught him off guard, and this is one of the few times that I've seen him standing still!

To see more animals from all over, head on over to Camera Critters.

Frosty Frolic (Camera Critters)

We woke the other morning to find the dogs frolicking in the frost. Cold weather just invigorates them, and they enjoy southern winters a lot more than southern summers.

Check out more cute Camera Critters HERE.

The CATtle are Lowing

Ever since we unpacked Christmas decorations and placed the manger scene upon the jelly cupboard, the cattle have been lowing and our cat has been napping next to Baby Jesus. Last year, she chose to sleep beneath the Christmas tree. This year, she's part of the Nativity!

Home Sweet Home (Camera Critters)

I thought this house was for the birds, but it appears that grasshoppers have taken a fancy to it.

I wonder if they are inspecting it for shelter or if they're eyeing the flowers in pots by the porch!

This is Camera Critters Sunday, so follow this link to other critters' pictures.

Pet the Alligator (Camera Critters)

Well...never thought I'd hold an alligator!

This little charmer drew plenty of attention last week at the McClelland's Critters Petting Zoo downtown at the libary. The baby gator, which has no teeth yet, is sitting in my left hand while I focus the camera in my right hand. Other critters on tour were baby Bengal Tigers and a magnificent python. The zoo brought them all the way from Banks, Alabama.

Take a look at the rest of God's beautiful creatures at Camera Critters!
