F is for Fleur De Lis

I've been looking forward to "F" Week at ABC Wednesday
so that my feature could be the fleur de lis!

Selma has lots of these "flower of the lily" designs
that were used by both French and English monarchs on shields and coats of arms.
The fleur de lis is especially popular on old ironwork around town.

Check out more "F" inspirations over at the ever-popular ABC Wednesday!

I love the stark black of the ironwork paired with the bright pink of the flowers! It looks like spring has sprung!

I love the composition and color of this image. St. Louis is my hometown, which is full of fleur de lis. Thanks for making me a little homesick today.

Rachel, spring is coming, but this picture was taken in late spring a few years ago. It had the perfect fleur de lis for today.

The flowers and the gate complement each other very well

Hello.
Lovely photo, especially the pink flower. I like the columns in the background too.
Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely capture of tones and textures. The pink beauties are nodding their heads with joy.

Very lovely "F" entry! Fleur de Lis....an unusual embellishment on an iron fence. The roses and the glimpse of the mansion are also very pretty. This could be a Fridays Fences post too! Thanks for commenting on my mailboxes post! Have a wonderful weekend!

Love this photo. I think I need to visit Selma someday - I keep thinking about a nationwide road trip, maybe 50 states in 50 weeks. Oh, if only!
