Easter Shopping

The weather may still be cool, but Easter frocks dress up the windows of The Lily Pad, a unique shop for children. I remember the days when my mother and grandmother painstakingly, yet lovingly stitched my Easter dresses, some with smocking, others with inset lace and one with tucks across the front. They were made of dotted Swiss, voile, polished cotton or organdy, and I always felt like a princess.

My cousin used to always get a new Easter dress every year. I didnt think it was that big a deal, it was just a dress. You cant go out and play in it.

My grandmother used to send my sister and I matching Easter dresses every year. They were store-bought dresses, but I always looked forward to having something new and pretty to wear. Maybe I should go out and treat myself this year, although I probably won't be hunting any eggs!
