The Pigeon Cote

Ever had pigeon for dinner? Apparently, this bird was an item a century or more ago. This old pigeon cote on the grounds of Heritage Village is an historic structure. It was built back when pigeons were raised for food. To see more pigeon cotes, some of which are centuries old, follow this link.

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone eats pigeon today. Very interesting. . . . .

Not something I see everyday. Not something I have ever seen. Pretty neat.

Nope, never ate pigeon.

But that's a beautiful photo of a beautiful historic object. So glad it's in a place called Heritage Village.

I've never eaten pigeon before either, nor do I want to! I had never heard of raising pigeons for food until I found a bit of history on this. Thanks for visiting.

Many people in India still eat pigeons. It's supposed to be very heaty.

That's a beautiful structure to keep for birds. I didn't realize they would raise them like they did chickens. Great photo.
