I photographed this bluebird right outside my window, perched on a cage that hopefully will soon be covered with vines of green beans. The bird is so close to me and won't even budge because he/she is on a lookout. What could he/she be looking out for?
(I'll post a picture of the answer on Monday.)

You got to be kidding me. A real blue bird that close. I can't find one far away. LOL A beautiful shot.
Happy Father's Day to the fathers in your family.
I hear cardinals, Carolina wrens, grackle babies wanting fed, and other nature sounds and the sky in the east is getting brighter and the air is cool and the doors are open and so are the windows. I am blessed on this Father's Day morning.
What an ecellent picture of the blue-bird and that close!
Wow, that is a nice capture!
I haven't seen one in Florida for 23 years..sandy
I love the simpleness of this photo with the bird sitting on the rustic wire. Great colors!

This is wonderful. He is so blue. Lovely choice for today and a marvellous capture
Excellent photo. I have never had a chance to see one in real life, only in photos. Great capture.
What colors! So clear and close! I don't know this pretty bird.
OH MY GOSH! That is BEAUTIFUL beyond words! It literally took my breath away! I can NOT get that close to any Blue Birds out here, because they are too skittish. This really is a photo to be very proud of - it's fantastic!
What a beautiful picture the colors are amazing
Thanks for all your kind comments. My father-in-law was over today and says this is a papa bluebird...perfect for Father's Day! He had made two bluebird houses for us, and we put them at the back of our yard where it's wooded. So, this is the first time we have had bluebirds! Apparently, the houses worked.
Wonderful blue for this bird!
What a beauty! Perfect for father's day, which I just realized I totally forgot about!
How gorgeous is his coloring!
Great shots of the papa and the baby! We have a family nesting in our bluebird house and can't wait to see the babies. I have some photos on my Gun Barrel City Daily Photo blog.
