This week, we say goodbye to 2007, and we said goodbye to "Charlotte" as well. Our garden spider in the kitchen window disappeared about a day after this photo was taken. Frankly, I thought she was either very sick or deceased here since we had never seen her "frozen" in place on her back before. She did survive through Christmas, and she leaves an unknown number of children in three cocoons that she wove into the eaves. Happy New Year for 2008!

Awww...she was beautiful! I'm sorry to hear that she is gone. We have quite a few animals in our yard that we've grown attached to, also.

Yikes! Very nice shot but I am terrified of spiders.
That is an excellent photo. Although I'm not afraid of spiders, I'm not sure if I could get close enough to take such a picture.
