Songs of Selma Park

The Songs of Selma Park at the foot of the Pettus Bridge is prettiest in July when the crape myrtles bloom. Located on the corner of Water Avenue and Broad Street, it occupies the space where The Crossing Restaurant was located. The restaurant, which featured excellent cuisine along with antiques in an original riverfront building, burned as a result of arson in 1984.

Wow, those are beautiful.

My wife, Patty, and I have been married for 52 years today. Imagine that.

Hi This is a typical "towny garden' just in between some walls but the space is used very well! I like it very much to see some trough your camera of Alabama, and now 'Selma Park" thank you for showing me that! I like your blog and I added a link to yours on my blog. Is that OK?

You're welcome to visit my blog, JoAnn from holland

Selma seems to be a vibrant city with so many lovely spots to stop and enjoy.

Selma does have a number of lovely spots, and those are the ones I choose to photograph, but there are many other places here that need maintenance and renovation. Thank you all for visiting and for your comments.

Beautiful trees. I really like this shot. It looks like it could be semi-quiet where the trees are and then you see the hustle and bustle of the street.
