Here's a closeup of the wrought-iron grillwork on the library balcony. Looking down, you see the elliptical rose garden, and across the street are the Downtowner Restaurant and other businesses.
It is beautiful workmanship on this grill. I wonder if it is "wrought" or "poured" and assembled? I never know for sure except once a comment said wrought is that which is twisted, curled and stretched iron work. The rest if poured. I am not sure if they knew what they were talking about. Just mentioned it. Perhaps you know.
Thanks for visiting. To d. chedwick bryant: The weather in February is usually cold as in 40s or 50s during the day and around freezing at night. But, we sometimes have warm spells with 60s or 70s daytime and occasional "frigid" 30s. Snow is a rarity, but cold rains are frequent. It is also the beginning of spring with daffodils blooming.
Abraham, everything in Selma that is grillwork is described as "wrought iron," but since this is fairly modern work, it may well be poured iron or assembled iron. Thanks for mentioning.

Just catching up on the last half dozen posts! I do want to visit Selma. How's your weather in february anyway?
Really nice shot. I find your photos offer an interesting insight into a city not known to me.

Very nice perspective!
I have an architectural element like this (incorporated into a piece of furniture) Nice to see it in its natural habitat.
Very pretty - nice shot!
