Welcome to My House!

"Welcome to my house!" said the spider to its prey, or to anyone who might have knocked on my front door yesterday. This is just one of three spiders and their webs that I found outside, and it had attached its web to the front door. I didn't disturb it either, despite clipping the hollies nearby.

creapy! bees with no wings, now this little critter....excellent macro shot. the zig zag web design, I've seen that pattern before, but can't place the name of the spider.

That's a very nice photo, Rambling Round.

Gee, now that you remind me, I should get out there and clip back the holly bushes too.

I'd sort of forgotten how busy insects stay in the South, after 14 months in Portland. Thanks for the memories.

For a spider, it's rather pretty. Seems like I've read somewhere about that style of web weaving (the zig zag part), but can't remember now what I read.
