Water Avenue Grillwork

The Adler building on Water Avenue recently underwent repairs,

 and the second-story grillwork remains and sure lends itself to photography. 

Gates of Old Live Oak

Here's a sampling of the iron grillwork that can be found in Old Live Oak Cemetery. This gate stands at the entrance to the Jones family plot where the little lamb rests atop an infant's grave. Other larger, exquisite monuments are here too. Notice the ironworks company name and Philadelphia, Pa., location at top left.

Grillwork

Here's a closeup of the wrought-iron grillwork on the library balcony. Looking down, you see the elliptical rose garden, and across the street are the Downtowner Restaurant and other businesses.

Berry House

Known as the Berry House, this historic structure features wrought-iron grillwork that was made in Selma's Foundry. Reminds me of New Orleans.

Courtyard Fountain

A steady trickle of water in the courtyard fountain of the Selma/Dallas County Public Library creates a relaxing atmosphere for visitors who might want to rest upon one of the benches. Some choose to make a wish here. Looking through the fountain, you can see the children's wing of the library. The wrought-iron grillwork is in keeping with the municipal complex's southern-inspired architecture.
