There is a house near Logan Circle here in DC that looks a lot like this one... and it always reminds me of New Orleans too!

That does look like a grand old residence in the French Quarter! Sections of the iron fence surrounding Louisiana's Old State Capitol are now in Alabama for restoration.
My first thought, before I read your text, was that it "Reminds me of New Orleans" :)
