Weavers at Work

Last week's City of Selma Art Camp included a weaving class, and I fell in love with this royal blue and white design. It's a creation of one of the campers who I believe is on his or her way to becoming an excellent weaver.

Alabama Weaver Nancy Kenfield of Selma provided the looms and other equipment and taught the children about her craft. By the time I arrived last Wednesday, most of the young craftsmen were able to enter the studio and set up their work without assistance. Very inspiring!

Check out her website HERE.

Weaving is so interesting. The one shown is beautiful.

Somehow I have missed your blog--I'd better behave myself. LOL MB

Weaving is a beautiful art form that requires imagination, skill, and patience. My mother was a weaver, but I never learned how much to my regret now. The piece you photographed is a delicious shadeof blue.

That is a beautiful design. I'm intrigued by this, but not enough to learn how to do it...I'll stand back and take photos!
