Skywatch Friday, Hay Crop

Fair weather smiled upon the farmers this week, giving them time to mow, rake and bale hay.

This year appears to be a good one, agriculturally speaking, and Dallas County may well be headed for a bumper crop. I'm sure the cattle will be pleased come next winter.

Check out more skies, both fair and foul, from around the world HERE. Or better yet, join in the fun.

How awesome. We see fields like that here all the time, and my wonderful groom says... "Hay!"

That's a wonder of a photograph, RR. It's good to know that you're looking at an economic success. That can create such a wonderful ripple effect throughout the whole county.

Thanks for visiting, Unseen. These are round bales of hay that you see on the ground. They will be moved and stored until next winter when the cattle are low on grass for food.

Lovely pink tint in that beautiful blue sky! Seeing hay all rolled like this always makes me smile. It's never done here — we just have haystacks.

I'm amazed that the farmers have been out haying already! Fields here are such soggy mess but I guess the we weather hasn't reached far southward into Alabama. Lovely shot!
