SNOW SaturDAY!

When snow sticks only once every several years (or longer!), no one is too old to get outside and play! These young people enjoyed a snowball fight, and the dog had fun chasing them in the first snow she has ever seen.

It was a great, short-lived snowfall. The whole 1 inch stuck only to the grass, roofs and cars and left the roads alone. This is the biggest snow I remember in Selma since March 1993. Unlike that snow, which was 6 to 12 inches deep, knocked out power and stayed frozen a couple of days, this one was almost melted by nightfall. The weather service reported four inches in Selma. We live a few miles from town and didn't get nearly that much!

Gosh, my kids would just love it if we could get 1 inch of nice, ready to pack snow! We seem to just get ice. Even when we have had some 'snow' it is more like ice particles.

Are you OK though? The roads can be dangerous particularly if snow isn't common in your area during Winter. Thinking of you

Lucky you - get a little snow to play with and then it all melts.

Have fun in the snow! Snowball fights, building snowmen, snowangels, sliding... Then come in for some hot cocoa!

That looks like fun. When we get snow its usually the 1 inch deep kind like you got. Here today gone tomorrow.

Good for you! It looks like so much fun! :)

We haven't seen much lately either, and *none* here yet. All around us, but not even one flake here!

Be careful, and enjoy it!

I am glad you got some snow. Now maybe you will also get some of this zero temperature that we got this morning. Nice photography.

Oh how fun!! I miss the snow so much! We are cold, however, in Seguin...24F overnight. So at least it's cold. Stay warm!

Superb. Love the action here, the snow - I feel cold looking at it but invigorated.

This photo impressed me a lot. This is how winter can be enjoyable. Without a snow and sun it is so depressive. Normally we should have had snowfalls, minuses and lots of snow in Latvia. Unfortunately this January brings only some rain and +4 celsium.
Great capture!!!

Thanks for the "Make My Day Award."
You always make MY day, so I had to give it right back!

Thanks for all your comments! Snow is really an historic event here. While most of it melted Saturday afternoon, there are still a few spots where it hasn't disappeared.
