Music adds to the atmosphere of Riverfront Market Day, and the Riverfront Ramblers were there on Saturday to play for the crowd.
Last weekend not only featured Market Day but the Alabama Tale-Tellin' Festival and final day of the Central Alabama Fair.
This next weekend offers Haunted History Tours with trips into the ghost town of Cahawba, through historic Old Town for curbside ghost tours and into Old Live Oak Cemetery to visit with Selma's most famous citizens.

I just reached back into my October 2008 photo file and grabbed this autumn wreath! Fall is officially here, and that means events, events, events for Selma.
The Central Alabama Fair is October 5-10, followed by the Alabama Tale-Tellin' Festival October 9 and 10, and Riverfront Market Day October 10. Whew!
On October 11, photographs by Selma author and storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham will be featured in a special showing at the Selma Art Guild. The reception is 2-4 p..m.
Then, on October 17, there's the African Extravaganza, and Haunted History Tours are October 16 and 17.
October offers bright blue weather for our area, so come along and join the fun!
Beware! The "ghosts" of Selma and Cahawba are everywhere, busily readying their haunts for this weekend's Haunted History Tours. On Friday night, the ghost town of Cahawba will host four treks for the very, very brave into its very (un)consciousness, and the Central Alabama Paranormal Investigators will conduct on-site tests. Ghosts from the past will appear at Cahawba on Saturday as well, and Old Live Oak Cemetery comes alive with famous inhabitants on Saturday evening. Then, that night, get ready for a tour of Sturdivant Hall and find out about the spirit that lives within...it's a story fit for a Stephen King novel...a banker, an "evil" regime, a former flooded prison, an escape, a "murder," or so the locals say. It is rumored that John Parkman just might show himself and finally tell his side of the story!
