Lighting on Lantana

Lantana may be unappealing to me, but the butterflies and moths just love it!

Thanks to Elaine Stewart for sending the photo.

Last of the Zinnias

I've left my zinnias in the ground far too long. They are full of weeds and insects, but the butterflies and moths are finally enjoying them, thanks to the first entirely sunny day in weeks.

Summer Gold

Butterflies and moths are enjoying summer gold these days as flowers wind down for the season.

The Beetle and the Butterfly

I believe the zinnias in my front yard are on their last legs (er, stems). Critters such as the beetle, underneath, are taking over, while butterflies and moths, above, are scarce this summer.

Lantana Delight

Lantana is a popular summer bedding plant that butterflies and moths just love.

It's used in flower beds and hanging baskets and known for rapid growth and prolific blooms. Not only that, lantana is extremely hardy, both pest and drought proof. (I know. I've tried to get rid of some after it spread where it wasn't wanted!)

Thanks to Elaine Stewart for sending this bright summer photo!

In High Clover

Instead of mowing our grass (er, clover),
the moths and butterflies get to enjoy it a bit longer while the rain continues to fall.
