It's almost time for the local Farmers Market to open!
Located in Bloch Park, the shed will soon shelter truck farmers who bring peaches,
corn, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, peas, potatoes and much more.
I'm just hoping their gardens got a better start than mine. We are re-planting
a few things due to an unusually cold ground this spring.

Love these places, usually. I've found a couple in this area are selling the same yucky stuff as you find in the supermarkets. But we have a Saturday morning farmer's market downtown - gotta try that one of these days.
I can almost taste the freshness. We have a local garden right in town - sells all sort of wondrous things they grow themselves. Plus we have farm stands at berry farms and many others - plus fresh cherries, peaches, apples and pears from the east side of Washington- love the fresh summer stuff. And a Farmer's Market right down town.
That's the part of summer I loved most when we lived in Oregon and also when we traveled a lot. I love them farmers mkts here in Florida too, but they are here in the winter and spring too and not so much in summer, or so I'm told. (We go back to Oregon soon.)
Hopefully we will have some tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, and sap peas. We still have to plant some cukes.
I also am looking forward to the opening of the local farmer's markets.
Our Farmer's Market opened today and boy was it busy!!
Don't think our farmer's market opens until June. I do approve of the "Buy local" movement.
