Bonnets and Parasols

At least once a year, I like to take a time trip back to the 1860s and go shopping! So last Friday evening, while waiting for the night cannon firing demonstration at the Battle of  Selma reenactment, this sutler's tent drew me in to admire pink parasols and flowered bonnets that once were fashion statements of the day!

Well . . . so what did you buy? You would be pretty conspicuous with that pink parasol or the green headwear.

Well Jack, I bought a pretty blue calico bonnet to hang in my kitchen. Perhaps I can wear it to Spring Pilgrimage next year! Or maybe I will just wear it and be conspicuous! :)

Very pretty. I don't know if they are planning any reenactments in the valley.
