One of my favorite parts of Pilgrimage is viewing all the columns, pillars and posts up close. These Ionic columns at Ashford recently received a new coat of paint. Ashford is on tour this Friday from 9 til 1 and Sunday from 1 til 5.
Jacob, methinks you are right! I had the privilege of taking "sneak preview" photos of some of the houses to use for Pilgrimage publicity. Perhaps you can bring a tour bus up here next year and join us for this event!
Here either, bfarr! I took this photo a few weeks ago when we actually had some bright sun for an entire day! The weather is calling for good weather most of the weekend, thank goodness.

Methinks you're having a great time going through all of these great old buildings! I would love to join you - your photos are quite enticing!

Oh, and I guess you have noticed that I haven't had much time to make comments lately! I will soon be back to "normal" on the blog.
The columns are always one of my favorite parts of any old house!
Nice, bright white against that pretty blue sky. We haven't seen any blue sky here for a while.
