The Golden Gate

The entrance to Old Live Oak Cemetery from Dallas Avenue turns to gold every November. These grounds are lush with color in the spring, but autumn is worth a visit too!

Your lovely photo of autumn gold reminds me of a poem by Robert Frost, "Nothing Gold Can Stay"

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Wonderful colors! They even brighten up an old grave yard.

Are you having trouble loading large pictures or did you change your format?
I like cemetery photos and this one is especially lovely.

Love this old gate and golden tree!
I'm trying my best to follow your blog, but I can't get the link thingy to work. What am I doing wrong?

Kate, thanks for posting Frost's poem. It's perfect for the photo!

Hi PJ. Both! Blogger changed something in its html, and when I enlarged my photos, they weren't sharp so I decided just to stay with the size and change the format. Some day, when I have time, maybe I will figure it out!

d, I'm not sure what could be wrong with the following link. It is working for me, but you can go to your dashboard and type in my blog's url to follow. I have done that for some blogs I wanted to follow but which didn't have a link up.
