A golfer tees off at the Valley Grande Golf Course last weekend during a tournament to raise funds to fight sickle cell anemia. The 18-hole course is located in Ocmulgee Estates, a residential and golfing community near Selma.

I was just saying the other day that I'd play golf if I lived in the North. I just can't stand the idea of being in the hot sun for four hours, even for a good cause like this one.
Thanks for your comments. Annie, the golf course was mighty hot that day. Thanks goodness, the course crew stayed busy ferrying cold water to the golfers. Swimming is about the only sport I like in the summer.
