Greek-Revival Architecture

The Lee-Bender-Butler House is a Greek Revival structure that was built in 1850 by Thomas Helm Lee, a cousin of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. Lee also built Selma's Sturdivant Hall, now a house museum.

Can't you just imagine a beautiful young woman waving to her beau from that upstairs balcony?

Nice photo of the beautiful building. The green bushes, the blue sky and the white house make a very attractive combination.

Wow. An impressive building. In its day one of the finest and still probably is.

Thank you all for commenting. I have had an LSA (Lazy Sunday Afternoon) so am just now checking email and my website. I could probably do a whole blog just on historic Selma houses! This one is especially attractive in the summer when everything is green.
