Skywatch, The Sycamore Tree

To quote Joyce Kilmer, "I think that I shall never see..." a sycamore tree

 more magnificent than against a winter blue sky!

 The sun-washed branches of this one on Church Street appear

 to reign above Church Street Methodist's tall spire.

Nightmare on Church Street

If trick or treaters wanted candy at this residence on Church Street, they had to brave the weirdo in the camo!

Now, I wonder if the monster had to brave the trick or treaters! When my children were small, one of them dressed as a robot and carried a toy robot claw. When we stopped at a neighbor's house, a "ghoul" was sitting in the yard holding the candy bag, and before I knew it, my little robot walked up and hit him over the head with the claw to see if he was real! He was, and I believe that ended his ghoulish game!

Summer on Church Street

Here's a summertime view of one of my favorite houses and yards on Church Street. Wish I could keep my own yard this neat and colorful!

Shady Lane

In the good old hot summertime, Selma has a lot of shady lanes. Huge oak trees and a few others shield sidewalks and homes from much of the sun's rays.

(A "cold front" moved through yesterday, and we have cooled off to temperatures well below 100 and lower humidity. It's cool outside right now!)
