Signs, Signs, Height of the Storm

Freezing rain, sleet and snow this week turned the streets of Selma into ice,
and generators were in high demand in case power went out.

Thankfully, school was canceled the night before,
preventing a hurry-home-at-the-height-of-the-storm misfortune.
As the thaw begins today, we'll hope that pipes didn't freeze!

Thanks to Christine Weerts, guest photographer!

The red seems to add extra drama to the wild outdoors. And the signs almost seem to be shivering.

Sounds like Atlanta should have talked to Selma about closings early. That looks cold.

That looks like another typical day in the weather here, but a real problem for you there.

Wow, it was really coming down hard up in Selma!

Doesn't look much like what I think Selma ought to look like! It's been cold and rainy here, but no snow and ice. Thank goodness. Hope you are doing OK in that mess.

Jim, Selma was placed in the winter storm forecast before Atlanta, so we had more time to prepare. However, we didn't get the forecast for freezing rain and sleet until the evening before. Thankfully, Selma is not in a huge metro area!

Sorry about your snow storm. It has been a hard winter. With the snow there should be little outside painting going on.
