Welcome to the Bridge Tender's House

The pale yellow Bridge Tender's House adorned with a few bright flowers
is a welcoming presence in Lafayette Park. Situated right on the river bank,
the historic abode once served as home for the bridge tender whose job
was to open and close the original swing bridge for boats.
That bridge was demolished to make way
for the Edmund Pettus Bridge in 1940.

A beautifully preserved piece of history. Love the perspective highlighting the wall.

What a pretty little house! I'm glad it survived modernization!
