School has started all across Selma, and among the new additions for school zones
are electronic speed limit signs. This one stands near Byrd Elementary,
and what a help it is for drivers! The sign flashes your vehicle's speed
as you approach the zone, reminding you to slow down and watch for children.

ours is 25 when the lights flash...really makes me angry when i see people fly through the school zone.
That is a good use of technology!
I've seen similar signs posting your speed, but usually at the speed trap areas. I think having them near a school makes good sense.
And solar powered too.
Several of our signs carry an additional warning that a "photo cop" is present.
