Jack, my husband says this is hackberry bark, and it's supposed to look like this! Very unusual bumpy bark!
That is really cool. The monochrome really works for the subject matter.
That's one reason I love taking photos - it focuses my attention on the beauty all around us. It's amazing how much beauty we often miss!
