Spring at Byrd School

Byrd Elementary School in Selma's Old Town Historic District is noted for its beautiful grounds. Azaleas, pear and dogwood really dress it up in the Spring!

In just another month, the school will celebrate its 90th birthday!

The building seems very well preserved for having been around 90 years. Excellent!

I taught for many years, and some of those old schools were wonderful...some of the new ones fall down after the first year!

This school has been well preserved, and there are some renovations going on now. I love schools that still have hardwood floors!

A great place to attend school. Love the fact that nature is emphasized and valued as models for the students.

I just love old, historic buildings. I am glad to see the community cherishing this rather than replacing it!
