Having ink in my veins, these bound volumes of newspapers from around 1900 fascinated me. They are on display at the plantation office on the grounds of Sturdivant Hall Museum. On the page at left are fashion photos, and while the dresses were oh so feminine in that era, I am glad big hats are out! Perhaps the wide-brimmed hats kept the sun off their faces.

I love old books, newspapers, magazines, really anything old! The fashions then were so beautiful. I was born in the wrong era!
The women of this era were so classy.I wish I could set back in time for a day just to see how life was.

As for the clothing styles, I appreciate all of the handiwork that went into them but I would suffocate in all the layers. I would have been miserable. I don't know how they did it!
