Cosmic Cosmos (Skywatch Friday)

The eastern sun rises from behind oaks and pines to capture the colors of cosmos, a flower that just loves heat but is holding up well in 50-degree Fahrenheit mornings.

This is Skywatch Friday. What a pretty day to wake up and face the sun!

The moment I saw this I thought of the movie The Color Purple.

Remember this Quote?

Shug: More than anything God love admiration.
Celie: You saying God is vain?
Shug: No, not vain, just wanting to share a good thing. I think it pisses God off when you walk by the colour purple in a field and don't notice it.
Celie: You saying it just wanna be loved like it say in the bible?
Shug: Yeah, Celie. Everything wanna be loved. Us sing and dance, and holla just wanting to be loved. Look at them trees. Notice how the trees do everything people do to get attention... except walk?
[they laugh]
Shug: Oh Miss Celie, I feels like singing!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I have a little bit of free time today so I thought I'd cruise by your blog to say hello. Miss you but I'll be back, hopefully before February when we're going to Mexico again for a few months.

This photo is really outstanding. Love it!

Kathleen, Would you believe that I have never seen "The Color Purple?" I wonder if I can rent it!

Those lines are a good way of comparing this photo, which I ran out and took this morning since I didn't have a good Skywatch photo. Boy, the sun cooperated with me, and I stayed longer than intended to click away as the changing light provided different perspectives to the flowers.

While the dialog is going on in the movie, they walk through a field of flowers just like this!!!

That is a wonderful perspective on a cosmos flower. They are diaphanous, and you have captured that heavenly quality.
