Founders' Day 2009

Arts, crafts and food lined the walking trail at the Valley Grande Park Saturday as hundreds of people turned out for Founders' Day.

This year, the town has added a pavilion, and music groups sang and played for the crowd. High School bands performed nearby under a tent.

The rural community just north of Selma was incorporated in 2003.

Valley Grande Founders' Day

Antique cars and modern fire trucks were on display last weekend at Valley Grande's Founders' Day festivities. The event was held along the walking trail and beneath the pine trees in the city park. There were food and crafts booths, country music, gospel music, a children's train ride and playground. Valley Grande is a rural community located just north of Selma.

Stars and Stripes

The new walking trail in Valley Grande is lined with flags for Memorial Day.
The winding path through tall pines was dedicated last week, and sponsors placed the Stars and Stripes there to honor soldiers who have died for their country.
