Nearing flood stage after seven inches of rain since Sunday,
the Alabama River in Selma made the railroad bridge appear
a bit short by Wednesday. Even after four days
of nearly constant rain, the skies still threatened.
Click HERE to see how high the bridge stands when the river level is normal.

ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I miss seeing bridges in my area but there's the Coronado Bay Bridge in San Diego. Thanks for today's visit. Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeletei like the murky skies! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of rain!
ReplyDeleteYep, we're getting that same rain here in Fort Myers Florida! Although it seems to be clearing up some this afternoon. Very nice photo of the bridge and the grayish skys too!
ReplyDeleteIt's sure been a wet winter.
ReplyDeleteWater is such a powerful force. I always get a sinking feeling when I see a photo like this. If the river keeps rising, there's nothing in the world that is going to be able to stop the damage it will do.
ReplyDeletesimply beautifully captured shot...lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stark contrast between the two photos. Too bad you can't share some of your rain with us.
