There's a 19th Century brick charcoal kiln at Kenan's Mill, and if you step inside and look straight up, you can see the sky through the trees.
Thanks to the Pilgrimage hosts at the mill who suggested this idea for a photo.

ReplyDeleteI browsed your blog and.....That Bearing blossom photo is a real keeper. The moss draped trees framing the tombstone is stunning. The red rose really captures your eye. The photos of the hot Iron pour with the flames still on them was a great capture and the information was fascinating. Even your blog header makes a person want to move to Selma, Alabama. OH...I forgot I came to visit your sky watch photo, a very fun and creative shot, I like it. As you can see I really enjoyed your informative blog. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteLouise, Oh yes, visitors can walk inside the kiln since it isn't used anymore. I've never seen anything else like this. It's shaped like a beehive.
