This charming Victorian cottage in Old Town caught my eye immediately. I can just picture someone sitting in those white rockers and having a lemonade as they watch the neighbors go by. From the bay window to the gingerbread trim, the banisters and color choices, I can't think of a thing that I would want different. The house was built in 1873 by George L. Waller.

Looks very nice indeed!
Is that a "Beware of dog" sign on the railing? And the ADT marker... Have there been break-ins in this area?
A reader from Villigen wrote in to say that the people in the carriages on my post from the 16th (link here) were wedding guests from a neighboring village who were being transported to the reception at the Trotte in Villigen.
That has Selma written all over it.
I love the brick foundation showing through. Old houses like that make me feel like kicking back and letting the rest of the world go by. Your photos are like portraits. Beautiful.
If this house was located up here and was for sale I would buy it. No questions asked. It is perfect.
what a beautiful home!!
I really like the color scheme. Nicely photographed!
Great composition! I also love that you used the word "cottage" which isn't used often around these parts, but was a common label in Wi where I grew up. It's a sweet-looking house on the outside, and I'm sure the inside is equally lovely.
How precious!!! Oh to live in a cottage... -sigh-

This is a beautiful house, it reminds me of the small town (where I grew up) Danville, VA. Has anyone ever been to Danville, VA...there is a lot of history in Danville?
