Summer in the Park

That blue sky is inviting, but summer is a bit too hot
 for much midday walking in Riverfront Park,
Wait until late afternoon, and it's a nice stroll by the Alabama River.
 The new amphitheater is the red building at the far left.

Turning Pink


It's mid-summer and Selma neighborhoods are turning pink with crape myrtle blossoms, especially since some much needed rain on Sunday and Monday.

(Skywatch Friday) Downtown Sundown



If it's Friday, then it must be Skywatch, and it's sundown in downtown Selma. I like the way the last golden rays of the day seem to spotlight the bridge and some of the buildings, and the sky is kind of purple.

Fountains, Municipal Complex


The municipal fountain gives a splash of coolness beneath the shade trees between City Hall and the library.
Any sense of cool is welcome these days when temperatures continue to top out toward 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
