Pottery & Pictures

Here are some of the pottery and pictures shown at last Friday's Art Walk at The Frame Shoppe. I love the colors and stripes on the vases, and some of the photography has been enhanced to look like paintings.

The Potter's Wheel

A young girl stood fascinated Friday evening as Allen Hamm worked his magic making pottery at the quarterly Art Walk downtown.

Hamm set up his pottery wheel in the front window of The Frame Shoppe where everyone could see, both from inside and outside.

This venue featured handmade pottery, ceramics, jewelry and photography.

The Two Cats

This pair of cats, a feline and a catfish, were painted by Mike Handley and displayed at the Selma Art Guild Gallery during the Art Walk. As you can see, catfish are called catfish because they have whiskers. In The Black Belt region of Alabama, there are catfish in the rivers and catfish raised in farm ponds...the kind you buy at the grocery store.

A Father's Love

This pastel titled "A Father's Love" was painted by Nate Brown and was on display at The Frame Shoppe during the August 1 Art Walk in Selma.
