Bienville Park Overlook

Ever since a sewer cave-in propelled the renovation of Bienville Park,

 the view of the Alabama River has been a lot less crowded.

 The thick overgrowth is gone, and it's a good location to see

 yet another angle of the Edmund Pettus Bridge,

 although NOT from this direction!

Down the Steps

It's D Week at ABC Wednesday, and D is for DOWN the steps at Songs of Selma Park.

The lower level of the park provides a great view of the Alabama River

 and Pettus Bridge. This area will be even busier than usual

 through the next few weeks of the 50th anniversary

 of the Voting Rights marches.

New View from Bienville Park

Not very long ago, this view of the bridge was obscured by trees,

 vines and brush. But "thanks" to a sewer collapse that caused

 the bank to sink, repairs were made, and Bienville Park has a new fence

 and a new view of the Alabama River and Pettus Bridge.

Note the winter sky with wisps of white.

 It looks cold, but we enjoyed a spring-like day

 with the temp near 70 degrees F.
